What are actuations?

Actuations are the number of times that the shutter has been fired on a DSLR (Digital Single lens Reflex) camera. Remember the shutter actuation count does not differentiate between actual exposures, shutter operations when no image was recorded, shutter operations for the preset white balance, or mirror-up for optical low-pass filter inspection - it represents the total number of ALL shutter actuations not just those that resulted in an image being recorded.
