Heather's presentation will be in two parts. Firstly, her recent work in both China and Australia - all with the D3. However, most of her travelling in the last year has been closer to home, commuting up to Kew Gardens for her new book - Heather Angel's Wild Kew, due out late this summer. Her second presentation will show the highlights of her year spent working at Kew. As always, Heather will relate the stories behind the images as well as giving tips and hints. Copies of Heather's books will be available this weekend.

11.30 Break for mid-morning refreshment: tea, coffee, mineral water on the Terrace.

12.00 - 12.45 Nikon Products and Technology - John McDonald

John will illustrate how some of the recent additions to the product range are ideally suited to Wildlife, Natural History and Landscape photography and can be used to improve the image quality.

In 2008, Nikon introduced three outstanding Perspective Control (PC-E) lenses that offer wide adjustment to the plane of focus. Two are also Micro-Nikkor designs, giving 1:1 reproduction.

The introduction of HD video technology into Nikon SLR cameras, has opened up the possibility of combining moving and stills images with a single capture device. John will discuss how this may impact the practice of future Wildlife Photography. The quest for ever-higher resolution to record minutiae within natural subjects has taken a leap forward with the introduction of the amazing 24.5 megapixel Nikon D3x SLR camera; whilst the SB-900 Speedlight takes portable external light sources into the next generation.

13.00 Lunch

14.00 onwards there will be a choice of four sessions. You may attend any or all of them, although the Photoshop clinics will be aimed at different levels.

14.00 - 16.15 Practical Session

Still life and Macro session with Heather Angel and the Nikon Support Team

An opportunity for you to get to grips with macro photography guided by Heather; help with equipment from the Nikon Support Team - here and throughout the day.

Heather will demonstrate how to portray still life subjects indoors to the best advantage, selecting the lighting which is most appropriate for the subject - whether it be window light, flash, a light box, a light tent or fibre optics. You will then be able to try your hand using one of several workstations which the Nikon Support Team will set up for use with the Creative Lighting System using the latest wireless technology and Nikon Camera Control Pro software. Most of the equipment featured in the "Nikon Products and Technology" presentation will also be available for you to use and flowers, fruits, shells and fossils will be provided for this still life session. This is a marvellous opportunity for you to gain instant feedback on composition and lighting from Heather.

PLEASE BRING A MACRO LENS, TRIPOD AND FLASH
